After 13 years have passed, blockchain is now entering the adoption stage. Today we can see the crypto industry is growing and its applications are getting more diverse. This year alone, 3 new sectors have caught the attention of many people, namely DeFi, NFT, and gaming. No one expected that this new industry would move so quickly to become what it is today and with this pace of development, it is certain that the crypto industry will develop even more in the future. Therefore, this industry currently requires a sophisticated infrastructure that can facilitate all the needs of the crypto industry in the future. That’s what Rangers Protocol does, to build the infrastructure for the future needs of the virtual world.

Rangers Protocol, incubated by MixMarvel, builds new infrastructure due to the inadequacy of the currently available infrastructure. Ethereum for example, as the first and most advanced blockchain platform to date, does not have a large capacity. If a large number of transactions occur, the network becomes very slow and the fees are very expensive. Ethereum may be suitable for financial applications, but not for applications that are more complex and require more frequent communication with smart contracts such as entertainment applications. For these reasons, Rangers Protocol is building a new blockchain infrastructure that is fast, cheap, and capable of facilitating future applications. Here are some of the key features of Rangers Protocol:

Rangers Protocol infrastructure

High-frequency trading

PoW, PoS, or DPoS are common consensus mechanisms used by blockchains. However, these three consensuses are not able to effectively solve the problems of security and efficiency. To solve these problems, Rangers Protocol uses a new consensus mechanism that combines the Verifiable Random Function (VRF) algorithm and the Boneh–Lynn–Shacham (BLS) signature. This mechanism generates blocks through random group formation and random multi-signatures within groups. VRF is used to ensure randomness and group selection, while BLS will amplify communication complexity, signature length, and performance. With such a mechanism, security, stability, and speed of block generation in Rangers Protocol can be guaranteed.

Rangers Protocol can generate one block every second, a hundred times more efficient than PoW, and can handle up to 5000 TPS without optimization. Also, Rangers Protocol can return real-time transaction execution results without having to wait for blocks to be generated. This will minimize network congestion and reduce usage costs, thereby making Rangers Protocol a high-performance chain that is highly scalable and can support complex applications.

EVM compatibility

Since most projects are built on Ethereum and EVM is also widely implemented on other public chains, Rangers Protocol will be fully compatible with EVM. Developers don’t need to learn a new language, they can deploy to Rangers Protocol using existing smart contracts and front-end application code via Rangers Engine VM (REVM). Also, data in contracts already running on Ethereum will be able to migrate to Rangers Protocol via Rangers Protocol cross-chain technology.

REVM enables Ethereum contracts to migrate to Rangers Protocol for use without recompilation. REVM abstracts operations such as NFT protocols and cross-chain into new smart contract keywords, introducing Rangers Protocol-custom keywords to complement Rangers Protocol features. Developers who use these keywords in smart contracts can enjoy the unique composition and operation that Rangers Protocol brings.

Cross-chain interoperability

With the increasing choice of blockchains for building applications, cross-chain interoperability is now an urgent need in the crypto space. Cross-chain interoperability is a capability that allows communication between different chains to occur so that assets and information from one chain can be freely transferred to another. Rangers Protocol is building a module that allows digital assets to operate seamlessly between the Rangers Protocol and other public chains. The safety of assets will be guaranteed as the Rangers Protocol adopts a distributed signature-based consensus system and smart contracts implemented on the public chain.

Cross-chain scheme

To perform a cross-chain asset transfer, the user first sends an asset-locked transaction to a specific contract which will then be packaged into a block. Rangers connector node receives the block via P2P network and parses the asset data. If correct, the relevant data will be formatted to generate a cross-chain transaction and the transaction will be packaged when the block according to the PoW consensus of the relay chain is generated. Rangers engine node receives the relay chain block and will verify the transaction. Once verified, the asset is stored in Rangers Protocol and the transfer is complete.

NFT protocol

Rangers Protocol maps NFTs on various chains and aggregates them into a consistent data structure. Rangers Protocol’s NFT protocol records historical data from the entire NFT lifecycle, including the release, minting, transaction, destruction, and NFT transfer to the public chain. Also, on Rangers Protocol, NFT will be reusable by multiple applications.

RPG allocation

RPG (Rangers Protocol Gas) is a token of Rangers Protocol ecosystem with a total supply of 21 million RPG. The RPG release mechanism is shown in the diagram below and it is estimated that 70% of RPG will be produced over the next 20 to 30 years.
